Business Development Manager - Inspection and Compliance Software

Basic salary up to £45,000, OTE £70,000 + great benefits

Home based covering Scotland, Ireland and the North East of England

My client is a successful provider of software for inspection and compliance across a number of different industry sectors including oil and gas, renewables, lifting equipment and much more. They are currently looking for a sales professional to join the team to cover the northern region, working remotely from home. We are looking for someone with experience in inspections, either hands on, or selling services or solutions, or even just with knowledge from working within a business where this is really prevalent. If this sounds like you and you are looking for a new challenge then we would love to hear from you!

The Role:

  • This is a proactive sales role, selling inspection and compliance software into a range of different industries.
  • It’s a mix of new business generation and account management (50/50) covering Scotland, Ireland and the North East of England.
  • You’ll generate your own leads but with some additional support from a marketing team.
  • Working from home, you’ll be able to engage with customers both through teams and from face to face meetings.
  • You’ll also identify and target existing client growth opportunities to maximise sales revenue and wallet share.
  • You’ll attend trade shows and regional networking meetings to ensure maximum exposure of the business and yourself to increase engagement and brand awareness.

The Person:

  • We are looking for someone who has a knowledge or hands on experience of industrial inspections within any technical sector. This could be from selling inspection services or software to hands on inspections or just a good knowledge from a working environment.
  • Strong sales experience is essential as this will be a full 360 sales role covering both new and existing customers.
  • Software sales experience isn’t essential, we would prefer someone with an understanding of our customer sectors and pain points.
  • Great communication and presentation skills are needed and experience using and recording information on a CRM system or similar are also required.
  • You’ll be driven, able to work autonomously and be motivated to work to targets but with the ability to identify and engage new markets.
  • There will be some travel involved so you need a full UK driving license and we would really like you to be based in Scotland or North East England rather than Ireland.

The Package:

  • A basic salary of £35,000 - £45,000 is available with an OTE of £70,000 (uncapped).
  • 25 days holiday increasing with length of service and with some flexible bank holidays.
