My client is an established and respected supplier of specialist and premium quality engineered plastic components to clients globally.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented operative to join our team in the warehousing and dispatch department who will also be responsible for some product finishing using manual workshop equipment.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient preparation, movement and dispatch of finished products, ensuring orders are completed accurately and delivered on time.

The Role

  • Part of this role involves producing and prioritising daily packing lists based on agreed delivery dates, then picking, packing and weighing those orders for dispatch.
  • You'll need to read engineering drawings to ensure correct part identification but this can be trained as long as you have good attention to detail.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries and ensuring all stock movements are accurately booked on company systems.

You'll also carry out some company deliveries and collections from time to time.

  • Maintain stock accuracy and conduct stock takes when required.
  • In terms of production and finishing of product, you'll be asked to trim, finish and prepare components to the required quality standards and agreed timescales.

This includes power filing, linishing and fettling, using workshop equipment including band saws, pillar drills and sheet presses safely and efficiently.

  • You will also be required to operate counterbalance and Reach forklifts when needed but this can be trained if you don't already have a license.
  • Working 4 days a week 7am - 4.30pm and 1 day a week 7am - 12pm.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing/engineering environment would be highly desirable, particularly including dispatch.
  • Experience using manual workshop equipment or other tooling would be great - although this could have been gained from outside the workplace as an alternative.
  • Ability to perform safe and effective lifting during loading and unloading processes is essential.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills are needed with attention to detail in order fulfilment and quality assurance processes
  • Ability to work independently as well as communicate as part of a team is definitely needed and you'll have competent IT skills using MS Office and internal systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and accuracy at all times
  • You'll need a full UK driving license for deliveries and if you have a forklift license that would be a benefit but isn't essential.

The Package

  • Annual salary reviews
  • Workwear tops provided
