We are currently working with a rapidly growing and well-established organisation within the construction sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Pocklington, near York. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking business where you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects while contributing to the company’s continued growth.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse subcontractor quotations and liaise with internal stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage subcontract documentation, including interim and final payments
  • Produce Bills of Quantities and activity schedules
  • Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts
  • Monitor project costs, contract income, and expenditure
  • Manage interim applications, final accounts, and recovery of payments
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports, including cost/value reconciliations
  • Provide commercial advice and support to site teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities
  • HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
