Job Role: Deputy Manager children's residential home
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 plus bonus and sleep-in allowance
Contract: Full-time, 173.3 hours per month (mix of 16.5-hour shifts and administration hours as confirmed on rota, based on the needs of young people and the business)
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting and supervising staff, appraisals, training, and team development
- Ensuring the home meets all care and compliance standards
- Helping with recruitment and rota planning
- Leading by example in day-to-day care and safeguarding of children
- Managing shift audits, reporting systems, and quality checks
- Promoting therapeutic practice and the PACE model
- Acting as a point of contact for external professionals and families
- Being a role model for the team and the children
Experience and Qualifications required:
- Experience in residential childcare, ideally in a leadership or deputy role
- Experience supporting young people with EBD, SEN, or trauma
- Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care (required), Level 5 desirable or willingness to complete
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident in staff supervision, rota planning, and safeguarding responsibilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
