The Role

As Enterprise Architect, you’ll be a senior leader in the core architecture team, reporting to the Chief Architect. This role is pivotal in helping define, shape, and deliver strategic business change. You’ll operate with a consultancy mindset – balancing conceptual design, roadmap development, and stakeholder engagement with improving architectural practices from the inside out.

Your Focus:

  • 60–70% business-facing: work directly with senior stakeholders (CFO, Underwriting Heads, etc.) to shape initiatives and drive strategic decision-making
  • 30–40% internal practice leadership: build patterns, governance, reusable assets, and evolve the maturity of the architecture function

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define and maintain end-to-end enterprise architecture
  • Shape high-level solutions and conceptual designs that link business strategy with technology investment
  • Lead initiative assessments, target state development, and roadmap planning
  • Own and improve architectural standards, practices, and knowledge sharing
  • Actively contribute to cross-functional strategy, collaborating across Business, Data, Digital and Infrastructure domains
  • Represent architecture in governance forums and challenge constructively when needed

Who We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience:

  • A background in commercial or corporate insurance
  • Proven success on large-scale transformation/change programmes
  • Ability to define conceptual designs, roadmaps, and navigate ambiguity
  • Executive-level stakeholder management and strong communication skills
  • Architecture practice development: standards, governance, reusable assets

Nice-to-Haves:

  • TOGAF certification or experience with EA frameworks
  • Broad architectural exposure (solution, infra, data)
  • Agile familiarity
