Are you ready to lead a growing data team and shape the future of data-driven decision making in the insurance industry? We’re looking for a Data Team Lead to join a UK-based insurance organisation and take ownership of the data ecosystem, supporting a robust reporting and analytics layer.
You’ll be based in London, working closely with a team of 6 developers based in India, providing leadership, direction, and hands-on support. This is a leadership-first role (approx. 80% team management, 20% hands-on), guiding technical teams while staying close to the tech.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage a remote development team, ensuring delivery of high-quality data solutions
- Maintain and enhance the client’s data ecosystem and reporting infrastructure
- Oversee backlog management, planning, and delivery tracking
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring across the team
- Support the existing Azure-based data platform, including Data Factory, Power BI, and Google Form integration
- Work with stakeholders to ensure business needs are translated into actionable data solutions
Essential Skills:
- Strong background in Insurance and data platforms
- Proven experience with Azure, Power BI, and Data Factory
- Comfortable leading distributed teams, especially offshore development teams
- Strong communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a hybrid, collaborative environment
- Some hands-on experience – while most of your time will be spent leading, you’ll still get involved technically when needed
