High Voltage Asset Installation Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) / Project Manager to lead the safe and successful delivery of high voltage infrastructure projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Senior Authorised Person for high voltage systems, including multipoint switching on private networks.
  • Carry out switching operations, isolation, and earthing on HV and LV networks.
  • Perform testing and commissioning of HV and LV networks.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnosis on both HV and LV networks.
  • Issue and cancel safety documents (Permits to Work, Sanction for Tet, etc.).
  • Lead site safety audits, risk assessments, and ensure full compliance with company safety rules and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), National Grid, and clients regarding access, outages, and switching schedules.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle for HV asset installation projects from mobilisation to handover.
  • Oversee civils, cable installation, jointing, transformer, and switchgear works.
  • Manage labour resources, plant, and material deliveries.
  • Handle subcontractor liaison, coordination, and performance management.
  • Control project finances, including budgeting, cost monitoring, variations and forecasting.
  • Ensure all works comply with CDM regulations, client specifications, and company procedures.
  • Produce high-quality project documentation, method statements, risk assessments, and handover packs.
  • Manage client relationships and attend progress meetings.
  • Lead and mentor site teams including civil operatives, labourers, and electricians.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status with current authorisation on HV systems.
  • Significant experience in multipoint switching on private networks.
  • Proven experience insertion of HV and LV networks.
  • Strong background in fault finding on both HV and LV networks.
  • Demonstrable project management experience, specifically managing labour resources, plant and material deliveries, subcontractor liaison, and financial management of projects.
  • Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent).
  • Valid CSCS Card (Gold Supervisor / Manager level preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Thorough knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations, CDM 2015, and safe systems of work.

Desirable:

  • Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APMP, PRINCE2).
  • Authorisation on specific DNO or private networks.
  • NRSWA Supervisor ticket.
  • Experience with ICP (Independent Connection Provider) projects.
  • IOH Managing Safely or NEBOH certification.
