Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project-Specific CAD Technician to support the successful delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, updating, and managing technical drawings throughout the project’s lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to client requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Teams, and Clients, the CAD Technician will play a key role in translating project requirements into high-quality technical drawings and as-built documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed CAD drawings, layouts, schematics, and installation drawings in accordance with project specifications.
  • Interpret design briefs, technical specifications, and survey information to create accurate technical drawings.
  • Update and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes and client requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain drawing registers.
  • Produce, as installed and as built drawings following project completion.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure design accuracy.
  • Conduct drawing checks and quality reviews to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Support site teams by providing technical drawing information and resolving drawing-related queries.
  • Ensure all drawings are produced in line with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Maintain project records in accordance with document control requirements.
  • Attend project meetings where required to provide technical drawing support.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician within construction, engineering, security systems, electrical, mechanical, or infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD and/or other relevant CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing principles and standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and design requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and document control skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within security systems, access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, gates and barriers, or related industries.
