Take ownership of a high-profile national retail account with huge growth potential. We are looking for a driven, detail-focused National Account Manager to lead one of our clients' most strategically important grocery retail partners. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where high standards, commercial sharpness and brilliant customer management are essential.
You will be at the heart of a division undergoing positive change, improving processes, strengthening cross-functional alignment and unlocking major commercial opportunities.
The Role
As National Account Manager, you will manage the daily commercial delivery of a complex, high-volume retail account across a number of different categories. You will work closely with Procurement, Technical, NPD, Operations and Supply Chain to drive accuracy, tighten processes and deliver exceptional execution. You will influence category direction, recover lost opportunities, shape future ranges and bring robust challenge to both internal teams and your customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day management of a major national retail account.
- Build strong, assertive relationships and act as the customer's key commercial contact.
- Develop annual account plans with clear sales, margin and growth objectives.
- Drive category reviews, identify growth gaps and recover previously lost lines.
- Manage NPD briefs, range changes and full lifecycle delivery from concept to launch.
- Oversee forecasting accuracy and maintain service levels.
- Monitor competitor activity and translate insights into commercial action.
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and eliminate silo working.
- Produce structured commercial reporting, highlighting performance, risks and opportunities.
About You
- Ideally a graduate that has completed a commercial graduate scheme and moved into a NAE role and looking for their next move into a NAM role.
- Experience with major UK retailers within FMCG, produce, food, gifting or similar categories.
- Commercially confident, assertive and calm under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail - accuracy is non-negotiable.
- Highly organised and thrives in fast-paced or reactive environments.
- Strong relationship-builder with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills and strong data fluency.
- A collaborative, constructive challenger who drives accountability across teams.
