Our client is a well-established drainage and wastewater services company operating across the South West, working with local water authorities and major construction clients. They play a key role in maintaining essential infrastructure and operate a large, growing fleet of specialist vehicles. Safety, compliance, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything they do.
They are now looking for an experienced Lead HGV Technician to take ownership of their workshop and keep their specialist fleet running at its best.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical role with a lead responsibility. You will be the most senior technician in the workshop, working alongside one HGV Fitter and reporting to the Transport Manager. You won't be stuck behind a desk; the expectation is that you are hands-on every day, with the added responsibility of overseeing standards, planning workloads, and keeping the fleet compliant. The fleet includes specialist tankers, jetting and vacuum vehicles, HGVs, and a pool of vans offering variety and interesting work that will keep your skills sharp.
Day to Day, You Will:
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on the fleet
- Oversee the work of the HGV Fitter
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Plan and manage workloads effectively
