Responsibilities include:
- Actively promoting a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity's purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity and performance.
- Responsible for the safe supervision of the facilities and the health and safety of all facility users.
- Providing effective, preventative life guarding of all pool sessions.
- Carrying out the emergency action plans in the event of any accident or injury and effecting water rescues and first aid treatment in line with the appropriate training.
- Maintaining physical and lifesaving training at the level required to comply with current Health & Safety regulations and any other additional standards set by High Life Highland and participating in any training provided to assist with this requirement.
- Assisting with and supervising the efficient and safe operation of water and land-based activities.
- Organising and leading activities and classes within the programme as required.
- Teaching swimming as part of our Swimming Programme as required.
- Encouraging safe and acceptable user behaviour.
- Ensuring that items of fixed and portable equipment are maintained to the required standard of safety and cleanliness and are set out safely when required.
- Liaising with other users and other centre staff on the day-to-day operation of the centre.
- Updating yourself regularly on all written procedures where relevant.
- Bringing to the attention of the centre manager or supervisor any improvements that might increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the centre.
- Ensuring the facility cleaning programme is carried out to the required standard.
- Carrying out reception/cashier duties including admission and cash control.
- Delivering inductions in the Fitness Suite.
- Promoting and selling High Life Memberships to potential new customers.
- Providing the required high level of customer care.
- Pursuing continuous professional development and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Leisure Centre and High Life Highland as a whole.
- Attending and undertaking any training online or in person.
- Aiming to reduce wastage and uphold our environmental values of being as sustainable as possible in all tasks.
- Assisting and supporting other areas of High Life Highland with particular projects, training or in the event of holidays or sickness working cross-functionally across the Leisure team.
- Undertaking all tasks in accordance with High Life Highland policies and procedures, including General Data Protection Regulations, health and safety procedures, relevant checks, reporting any concerns to management to ensure corrective action is taken.
