KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charityβs purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity, and performance.
- Responsible for the safe supervision of the facilities and the health and safety of all facility users.
- Provide effective, preventative lifeguarding during all pool sessions.
- Carry out emergency action plans in case of accidents or injuries, including water rescues and first aid, in line with training.
- Maintain physical and lifesaving training to comply with current Health & Safety regulations and additional standards set by High Life Highland; participate in relevant training.
- Assist with and supervise the safe operation of water and land-based activities.
- Organise and lead activities and classes within the programme as required.
- Encourage safe and acceptable user behaviour.
- Teach swimming as part of the Learn to Swim Programme.
- Ensure equipment is maintained to safety and cleanliness standards and set out safely when needed.
- Liaise with other users and staff regarding the daily operation of the centre.
- Regularly update yourself on relevant written procedures.
- Report any suggestions for improvements to the centre manager or supervisor.
- Ensure the facility cleaning programme is completed to standard.
- Perform reception and cashier duties, including admission and cash control.
- Deliver inductions in the Fitness Suite.
- Promote and sell High Life Memberships to potential customers.
- Provide high-quality customer care.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and contribute to the improvement of The Fingal Centre and High Life Highland.
- Attend and complete any required training, online or in person.
- Strive to reduce wastage and uphold sustainability values in all tasks.
- Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or cover during absences, working cross-functionally as needed.
- Work on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and give advance notice for leave requests.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with policies and procedures, including GDPR, health and safety, and reporting concerns for corrective action.
