KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity, and performance.
  2. A shared responsibility to manage, organize, document, and create access to the collections.
  3. Annually install and interpret working collections in historic buildings.
  4. Assist the Operations team with curatorial-related issues and contribute to the training and support of the seasonal interpretive team.
  5. Ensure collections management is carried out to Accreditation standards and contribute to maintaining the Museum’s Recognised status.
  6. Work in collaboration with colleagues towards the management of the overall site.
  7. Lead and collaborate on external funding applications to improve management and benefit the museum.
  8. Assist in the development, review, and implementation of collections management policies, improvements, and projects.
  9. Work with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners to improve collections’ access through learning programs, interactive interpretation, activities, or events.
  10. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Highland Folk Museum and High Life Highland as a whole.
  11. Attend and undertake any required training online or in person.
  12. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold environmental values of sustainability in all tasks.
  13. Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or cover during holidays or sickness, working cross-functionally across the Highland Folk Museum team.
  14. Undertake all tasks in accordance with High Life Highland policies and procedures, including GDPR, health and safety, and relevant reporting, to ensure corrective actions are taken.
