Facilities Manager – South Yorkshire Primary Cluster

High Hazels Academy, along with Bank End Primary and Hunningley Primary Academy, seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to lead estate, premises, and facilities functions across our three primary schools.

Hours of work

Monday to Thursday, 28 hours per week, 8 am – 3:30 pm (flexible).

Closing Date

Monday 31 st August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure buildings and grounds are safe, compliant and well‑maintained.
  • Oversee maintenance programmes, health and safety compliance, capital projects and contractor performance.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and long‑term estate planning.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and the Executive Business Manager to align facilities services with educational objectives and statutory obligations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the South Yorkshire Primary Cluster.
  • Employment Terms
  • Location: Based at each school for one day a week; schedule may change per school needs.
  • Working hours: Monday‑Thursday, 28 hours per week (8 am‑3:30 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break). Flexible or part‑time arrangements may be discussed.
  • Ill‑health pay: Five‑year sliding qualification, then full pay for 50 days and half pay for 50 days.
  • Holidays: 43 weeks worked per year; paid for 49.47 weeks, plus public holidays.
  • Pension: Eligible for Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Death in Service: Lump‑sum payment to beneficiaries.
  • Private Healthcare Scheme: Optional group provider cover with possible family extension at an additional charge.
