An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our committed and forward-thinking team. A Health Care Assistant (HCA) is a trained member of the clinical team who supports doctors, nurses, and other clinicians by carrying out essential clinical and administrative tasks. Our ideal candidate will hold an NVQ level 3/QCF level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support or equivalent and have experience working in Primary Care, Secondary Care or in the community.
Main duties of the job:
- Conduct blood pressure measurements, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation
- Measure height, weight, BMI, waist circumference
- Perform urinalysis, peak flow readings, and basic observations
- Assist with chronic disease monitoring (e.g., basic diabetes/BP checks as directed)
- Carry out NHS Health Checks
- Support patient recall for annual reviews

Job responsibilities:
- Preparing clinics and treatment rooms
- Managing equipment and stock
- Updating patient records accurately
- To undertake infection control and prevention measures within the Practice.
- To assist with ordering of clinical stock/supplies for the practice
- To assist with monitoring/maintaining of medical equipment/devices
- Record fridge temperatures, clean fridges, promptly report temperature variations from standard.
- On the basis of a Patient Specific Direction and with signed authorisation administer: Shingles immunisation, Flu immunisation, Pneumococcal immunisation
Person Specification:
- Good General Education
- Qualified to NVQ level 3
- Experience within a GP Practice
- Basic first aid knowledge
- Health and safety awareness
- Knowledge of SystmOne clinical systems
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check
