I am currently recruiting for a leading Syndicate who are seeking a Property Claims Adjuster to join their growing team. This role will be responsible for handling Property Claims from the Property & Inwards Reinsurance portfolio, with a focus on Property Binders & D&F. This will involve handling claims on a worldwide basis and my client is seeking a junior insurance professional, ideally with some claims experience in Property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adjust claims within the Claims Authority in accordance with internal Claims Philosophy, Claims Protocols, and Lloyd's Lead Claims Arrangements.
  • Manage and oversee Property Binder claims.
  • Collaborate closely with Underwriting teams, providing regular updates and relevant renewal information as needed.
  • Engage with brokers and clients to effectively resolve claims.
  • Liaise with follow and co-lead markets, including organizing, hosting, or attending market meetings as necessary.
  • Instruct and manage external legal counsel and experts to assist in coverage determinations, quantum assessments, or the resolution of disputes.
  • Process and manage monthly claims bordereaux.
  • Review the adequacy of loss funds and support the Claims Operations team with recovery of prior year loss funds.
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and accurate reserving practices are applied in line with the company's Reserving Philosophy.
  • Escalate large or complex claims within the Claims Department as needed and prepare Executive Claims Summaries when appropriate.
  • Report relevant claims in a timely manner to the Outwards Reinsurance team and assist with reinsurer recoveries where applicable.
  • Perform any ad hoc tasks as required by management.
