Our client, based in Swadlincote, is looking for an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver / Yard Operative to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. Working as part of a busy team, you will be responsible for safely moving heavy housebuilding products around the yard and supporting general site operations.
Main Duties FLT Counterbalance Driver
- Operating a counterbalance forklift in the yard
- Moving heavy housebuilding products and materials
- Picking orders and preparing products for dispatch
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards
- Providing general support around the plant and yard
- Reading measurements using the metric system, including centimetres and millimetres
Requirements FLT Counterbalance Driver
- A valid and accredited FLT Counterbalance certificate is essential
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift
- Ability to work safely when handling heavy products
- Ability to read metric measurements, including cm and mm
- Flexibility to undertake additional training and operate other types of forklift equipment
- Vacancies available on morning and afternoon fixed shifts, offering 40 hours paid per week.
- Morning shifts: 07:00am to 03:45pm Monday to Friday (fixed shift)
- Afternoon shifts: 3:00pm to 11:00pm Monday to Friday (fixed shift)
Pay and Benefits
- Starting rate of £14.37 per hour
- Potential increases to £15.41 and £16.45 per hour for suitable candidates. Pay increases available following successful training and upskilling on additional forklift types
- Overtime paid at:
- 1.25x Monday to Friday
- 1.5x Saturday
- 2x Sunday
This role may involve handling very heavy products, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
