Overview

Job Title: Student Support and Attendance Officer (term time only)

Contract: Starting ASAP until December 2025

Salary: £17,414.52 to £18,310.56 pro rata

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours

Location: Office based Solihull

Please note: An Enhanced DBS check will be required before commencing this role

Responsibilities

  • Support students in maintaining high attendance levels and ensure students remain on their course and are successful
  • Assist tutors in tracking and following up on student attendance on a daily basis
  • Maintain a reporting system with regards to student attendance and behaviour
  • Act as a link between tutors, students and parents
  • Monitor and work with students whose attendance falls below the agreed levels
  • Drive the disciplinary process ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Attend monthly risk meetings and complete the at risk register
  • Provide a first point of contact for students/parents reporting absence
  • Undertake all mandatory training in a timely manner as required e.g. Safeguarding, Prevent
  • Other duties as required which are broadly consistent with the general functions and grading of this position

Key Skills / Experience

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Experience of working within an education setting would be a strong advantage
  • Working to deadlines
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications (in particular Excel and Word)

Salary note

This is an excellent role for an experienced Student Attendance Officer to work within a busy team. In return you will receive between £25,188 to £26,484 pro rata, actual salary £17,414.52 to £18,310.56 plus excellent benefits.
