We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Mentor to join a supportive and welcoming further education setting in Cambridge. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and supporting SEND students reach their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of learning environments, helping students to access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop greater independence.

Key Duties

  • Support students with additional learning needs both in and out of the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with lecturers, assessors, and the wider support team
  • Assist students with notetaking, reading, written work, and use of assistive technology
  • Adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility, such as modifying language or enlarging text
  • Promote independence and encourage students to take ownership of their learning
  • Support students during breaks, lunchtimes, trips, and off-site learning activities when required
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided, attendance, and progress
  • Contribute to team meetings and ongoing improvements to learning support provision
  • Support therapy-based interventions such as speech and language or physiotherapy, following professional guidance
  • Attend review meetings with parents or external professionals when requested
