We are seeking an experienced Business Development individual who will be responsible for driving outbound activity, managing a sales pipeline, and developing long term relationships with clients and stakeholders across the automotive and manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will take ownership of outbound sales efforts, including lead generation, conversion of incoming enquiries, proposal management, and relationship development by identifying training and consultancy needs.
Duties
- Manage the full sales cycle, from inbound enquiry qualification through to proposal development and closing the sale.
- Own the development and maintenance of a high-quality sales pipeline aligned with the clients strategic priorities.
- Lead on outbound sales activity, identifying new opportunities through proactive engagement and outreach to existing and prospective clients.
- Be accountable for meeting sales targets and contributing to the wider team revenue goals.
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact for industry partners and clients.
- Provide regular sales performance updates to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
- Champion customer insight and feedback across the business.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align outbound campaigns with sales objectives and sector specific strategies.
- Support the Sales and Marketing Manager in managing the sales pipeline via Salesforce, ensuring all leads and opportunities are recorded accurately.
Key Skills / Experience Required
- University or college degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably in the automotive, engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to build and maintain senior-level customer relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable attending customer meetings and industry events.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
