Overview Property Senior Associate – DevelopmentSenior Associate located in the Property Department with property development experience, joining a growing team. The role involves leading key client relationships, running transactions, and potentially supervising junior team members. There is also possibility to undertake corporate support work alongside the Corporate team and to engage in wider commercial property work.Role Purpose Due to continued success and growth of the Property Department, the firm seeks an ambitious candidate with property development experience to join the team at Senior Associate level. The property development team provides high-quality legal advice across residential and commercial development matters, acting for landowners, developers, funders and end-user tenants on a broad range of transactions.Key Responsibilities Manage client relationships and act as a trusted adviser on key accounts in some casesLead own transactions, including high-value and complex projectsSupervise and mentor junior team membersDraft and negotiate a wide range of transactional documents (site acquisitions, conditional contracts, agreements for lease, leases, licences, deeds, transfers, options, collaboration, promotion and overage agreements)Provide commercial, pragmatic and strategic advice to clientsUndertake legal due diligence and title investigations; report to clients and prepare certificates of title for lendersManage client reporting processes across key client accountsHandle high-value and complex legal matters in support of the senior leadership teamMonitor WIP, debt management and time recording practicesSupport and mentor early careers lawyersAssist in business development activities, including networking, thought leadership and marketing campaignsPossible involvement in corporate support work and wider commercial property tasks depending on experiencePerson Specification Proven background in property development (residential and commercial); strong technical legal skills with ability to tailor and negotiate a wide range of transactional documentsExcellent commercial awareness; ability to deliver pragmatic, strategic advice and outstanding client serviceStrong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; able to build trust and manage client relationshipsHighly self-managed, proactive with attention to detail; capable of handling a busy caseload and meeting deadlinesCollaborative, dependable, and supportive of fostering an inclusive workplace cultureTechnical Knowledge Property development law knowledge including:Land acquisition and disposal processesDevelopment agreements, joint ventures and collaboration agreementsInfrastructure agreements and wayleavesConstruction law fundamentals and their role in development agreementsTitle investigation and reportingLand Registry procedures and requirementsOption and Promotion AgreementsWhat We Offer You We offer more than just a job.
