4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 07:00-19:00.
Why is the QA role IMPORTANT to us? A key role in supporting the Quality Manager to ensure all technical requirements are met and maintained within the factory and other supporting departments, maintain the high level of BRC accreditation and improve technical excellence.
What will you be DOING?
- Working with the production teams to resolve quality issues, playing a major role in site continuous improvement process, challenging ingredients where necessary.
- Performing sampling and swabbing for allergen and microbiological testing.
- Managing the despatch and recording of samples for shelf life, nutritional and microbiological testing, communicating with laboratory.
- Completing raw material checks and reporting issues through the supplier non-conformance process.
- Maintenance of the quarantine system, releasing, rejecting products and communicating to the wider business.
- Raising non-conformance and contamination incident reports and ensuring effective corrective action is taken, eliminating the risk of reoccurrence.
- Provide support during quality audits/site visits, including presenting traceability exercises.
- Investigating and resolving quality complaints and queries from customers.
- Support the launch of new products.
- Understand the assembly procedures and product requirements to support the production team.
- Responsible for maintaining the document control system and updating paperwork if and when required for standard production.
What SKILLS do you need to have?
- Proficient with using Microsoft office packages.
- A good standard of both verbal and written English.
- Ability to communicate with members of the Higgidy team at various levels.
- Experience in training other staff members, and explaining tasks and reasons behind rules and procedures clearly.
- Able to concentrate on tasks, and notice inaccuracies or unlikely anomalies in factory paperwork and in technical data.
- Able to be active and on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to prioritise workload, and excellent organisational skills.
- A perceptive and meticulous nature.
- Some flexibility may be necessary around working hours; however disruption will be kept to a minimum wherever possible.
What KNOWLEDGE do you need to have?
- Experience of working within a FMCG environment would be desirable.
- Level 2 food safety and HACCP qualification is desirable, however training can be provided.
- Knowledge and experience of working with equipment, and proof of COSHH training.
- Quality or technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
