We are a leading manufacturer of mass spectrometers, providing innovative solutions for vacuum, gas, plasma, and surface science applications. With over 40 years of experience, we specialise in delivering cutting-edge technology used in various fields, including lithium-ion battery development, fusion research, and gas analysis for clean energy applications. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic mechanical/vacuum assembly engineer to be part of a production team working on scientific instruments and vacuum systems, working Mon-Fri. The role will involve hands-on work assembling vacuum systems to engineering instructions and drawings.
The Package:
- Salary: Competitive D.O.E + bonus
- Working Hours: Full Time and permanent on site at Warrington. Working Monday-Friday 36.5 hours a week (working a shorter day on Friday). Flexible working hours.
- Holidays: 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays. Your holiday entitlement will rise incrementally up to a maximum of 29 days holiday, plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
- Use of hand tools and electrical hand tools for assembly of mechanical parts and equipment to controlled drawings and standards.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
- Ensure that assembly procedures are followed.
- Adhering to H&S risk assessments and procedures.
- Identifying faults with incoming parts and ensuring the correct procedure is followed to ensure their rectification.
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience in assembly work, ability to assemble components, sub-assemblies and equipment to engineering instructions and drawings.
- Knowledge of assembly of vacuum systems is preferred but not essential.
- Ideally has experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable and able to work to high standard of quality whilst maintaining deadlines required.
- Be a good team player. Please note training will be given.
