We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Commis Sommelier to join the team at HIDE. HIDE's award-winning wine programme is led by Head Sommelier Julien Sarrasin and Director of Food & Beverage Matthew Mawtus. Home to one of Europe's largest wine lists, with access to some of the world's finest and rarest wines, we offer around 100 wines by the glass, alongside four carefully curated wine flights designed to complement our tasting menu.

Working closely with our Head Sommelier and senior wine team, you will gain invaluable experience whilst developing your knowledge and confidence. Working alongside Hedonism Wines, our award-winning sister company, you'll have access to an extraordinary collection of over 6,500 wines and 3,000 spirits. Our buyers source only the finest bottles from around the world, with meticulous attention paid to provenance and quality. Our unique partnership with Hedonism Wines also allows guests to purchase bottles directly from the shop whilst dining at HIDE, creating one of the most exciting wine experiences available anywhere in the UK.

About you:

As a Commis Sommelier, you will:

  • Have a genuine passion for wine and hospitality, with a desire to build a career as a Sommelier.
  • Be eager to learn and develop your wine knowledge through ongoing training.
  • Support the Sommelier team with wine service, cellar organisation and stock management.
  • Assist with receiving and storing wine deliveries.
  • Ensure all wines are served using the correct techniques, glassware and service standards.
  • Build positive relationships with guests by providing friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service.
  • Have a good level of spoken English. Additional languages, particularly Russian, Mandarin or Cantonese, are an advantage.
  • Maintain the exceptionally high standards of service expected at HIDE whilst continually developing your knowledge and skills.
