Department: Spa - Therapy & Retail

Ardencote Hotel & Spa is seeking an exceptional Therapy & Retail Manager to lead and develop our Therapy and Retail departments, ensuring outstanding guest experiences while driving commercial success. This is a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious, commercially minded spa professional who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment.

You will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of both departments, leading a talented team to deliver exceptional service standards, maximise revenue opportunities, and create memorable guest journeys. Working closely with the Head of Spa and wider hotel leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the future success of our spa offering while maintaining the luxury standards that Ardencote is renowned for.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading Operational Excellence
    • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the Therapy and Retail departments
    • Ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, presentation and professionalism
    • Managing treatment room utilisation and operational efficiency
    • Supporting spa events, promotions and business initiatives
    • Leading by example through active involvement in daily operations, including weekends and shift management
  • Driving Commercial Performance
    • Delivering revenue growth across therapy treatments and retail sales
    • Monitoring departmental performance against budgets, forecasts and KPIs
    • Implementing strategies to maximise treatment bookings and retail spend
    • Analysing business performance and identifying opportunities for growth
    • Maintaining effective stock control, purchasing and inventory management
  • Enhancing the Guest Experience
    • Creating a seamless, personalised and memorable spa journey for every guest
    • Ensuring all guest interactions reflect Ardencote's luxury service standards
    • Managing guest feedback and resolving concerns professionally and effectively
    • Continuously seeking opportunities to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction
  • Developing High-Performing Teams
    • Leading recruitment, onboarding, training and development of Therapy and Retail teams
    • Coaching, motivating and inspiring colleagues to achieve their full potential
    • Conducting performance reviews and supporting career development planning
    • Creating a positive, inclusive and professional working environment
    • Managing rotas and payroll in line with business needs and budgets
  • Maintaining Compliance & Standards
    • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
    • Upholding high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and operational safety
    • Maintaining accurate records and supporting audit requirements
    • Championing a safe and secure environment for guests and team members

About You

We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who brings:

  • Previous management experience within a luxury spa, wellness, hospitality or retail environment
  • Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, payroll and KPIs
  • Proven ability to drive retail performance and revenue growth
  • Excellent people leadership, coaching and team development skills
  • Outstanding guest service and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, hands-on operational role
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and spa operational standards

Further Information

  • Full-time: Working 45 hours per week
  • Working 5 out of 7 days a week
  • Shift Pattern: As required
  • Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
  • Full flexibility is key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and the business
