Location: Cardiff
HID seeks a Manufacturing Test Engineer to be an integral part of the Global PACS ME NPI team. The primary responsibility will be introducing new electronic products and processes to manufacture across global sites. This would ideally suit an engineer that has been exposed to an electronics manufacturing environment who has a broad understanding of all the processes involved.

As our Manufacturing Test Engineer you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Drive Alignment on NPI strategy with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Develop documentation to support production (WRI’s, Process flows etc.)
- Participate in design reviews, provide input to DFM/DFT.
- Drive contract manufacturers to adopt Lean Manufacturing
- Drive Manufacturing yield improvements with CM’s
- Project manage NPI industrialization process
- Process mapping and design
- Troubleshoot product functionality as related to tooling and/or process related issues
- Assist in the design, fabrication, documentation and test of various electro-mechanical fixtures and test equipment
- Coordinate production line set-up and the development of maintenance and calibration procedures
- Support Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects and workshops
- Implement engineering changes to production parts
- Prepare reports - collecting, analyzing process test and capability data (yields, cycle times, trends, etc.)
- Setup production test and functional test in production
Your Experience and Background include:
- Degree qualification/ Time served Apprenticeship and 5 years’ experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
- Education or equivalent experience in SW developing, C#, Labview
- Able to read and understand electronic schematics and experience developing electronic circuits is desirable
- Knowledgeable in product testing and measurement methods/tools highly desired
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and work instruction creation addition to calibration and maintenance procedures.
- Experience with RFID and Access Control panels is preferred, but not required
