Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business. The role is operational and detail-focused, working closely with the Managing Director, commercial team, and site managers to control costs, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts
- Manage day-to-day finance operations including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll oversight
- Monitor project costs, margins, and profitability across live contracts
- Maintain accurate work-in-progress (WIP) and support CVR reporting
- Manage applications for payment, valuations, retentions, and final accounts
- Oversee credit control, supplier payments, and subcontractor accounts
- Support tender pricing and review project financials pre- and post-contract
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, VAT (including CIS), and statutory requirements
- Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts and audits
- Improve financial controls, systems, and reporting processes
