We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care Assistant to grow into a leadership role at Wilton Lodge, our friendly and supportive Older Person residential service located on Holderness Road in Hull. The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Pay & Hours:

  • £14.82 per hour
  • 22.5 Hours per week
  • Night shift
  • Working on a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)

The Role:

You will oversee the care team and ensure the safe delivery of care, support and medication with all standards met during your shift. With continued guidance from the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, as well as support from our experienced team, you will be given the opportunity to get to know the residents' needs before transferring onto nights.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coach and mentor new and existing staff
  • Review care plans
  • Prepare, administer, store, record and order medication
  • Personal care (washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
  • Maintain and develop professional relations with families
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns
  • Promote independence of our residents at all times to improve their quality of life

About you:

  • Have an NVQ Level 2 in Care; this is not essential as our Team Leader Development Programme will support those wanting to take the next step in their career.
  • Medication trained - not essential as training can be given
  • Be confident in supervising others and be able to manage/prioritise workloads
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • We provide full training so don't worry if you are new to this role, as long as you have the right qualities and experience in the care industry we would love to hear from you.

About Us:

Wilton Lodge is a 49-bed care home providing specialist residential care services for older adults and those living with dementia. Our home features The Woodford Suite on the first floor, an Enhanced Care Community designed to offer a comfortable and supportive environment for our residents. Located just a short stroll from East Park, residents and family members can enjoy the lovely grounds, visit the small animal sanctuary, or participate in the various attractions held throughout the year. Wilton Lodge is a two-storey building that has undergone significant refurbishment in recent years. Access to the first floor is facilitated by a lift, and there is ample parking available adjacent to the property, along with beautiful enclosed gardens at both the front and rear of the home.
