We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care Assistant to grow into a leadership role at Elm Tree Court, our specialist dementia care home on Preston Road.

As part of The HICA Group, you'll lead by example—supporting your team, ensuring high standards of care, and making a real difference in the lives of our residents.

Please note: The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Pay & Hours:

  • £14.82 per hour
  • 33 hours per week
  • Night shifts only
  • Rota includes weekends (every other weekend)

The Role:

As a Team Leader, you'll oversee the care team and ensure the safe and effective delivery of care, support, and medication during your shift. With guidance from the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager—and support from our experienced team—you'll have the opportunity to get to know our residents and their needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coaching and mentoring new and existing staff
  • Reviewing and updating care plans
  • Preparing, administering, storing, and recording medication
  • Providing personal care (e.g. washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
  • Promoting independence and enhancing residents' quality of life
  • Maintaining professional relationships with residents' families
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately

About You:

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in care, ideally with NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care - although not essential.
  • Medication trained
  • Confident in supervising others and managing workloads
  • A strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude.

Elm Tree Court is a dedicated residential home located on Preston Road in Hull, catering to 72 residents with a special focus on dementia care and support. Our compassionate support teams are committed to providing person-centred care, ensuring that each resident receives the individualized attention they deserve.

Our dedicated Activity Coordinators work tirelessly to enhance the quality of life for all residents, creating engaging activities that cater to individual preferences and interests. With a minibus at our disposal, residents can actively participate in the local community and enjoy outings to various destinations. We proudly belong to several local clubs, including the Butterfly Club and the Willow Club, and we warmly invite community members to visit Elm Tree Court.
