Are you a compassionate and motivated care professional ready to take the next step in your career? We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Care Assistant to grow into a leadership role at Tamarix Lodge, our friendly and supportive Older Person residential service located in Withernsea, East Yorkshire.
The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.
Pay & Hours:
£13.22 per hour
24.5 – 36.45 Hours per week
Days & Nights shift available
Working on a rota covering 7 days per week (every other weekend)
£1000 welcome bonus: £250 after 3 months, £250 after 6 months & £500 after 12 months service.
The Role:
You will oversee the care team and ensure the safe delivery of care, support and medication with all standards met during your shift. With continued guidance from the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, as well as support from our experienced team, you will be given the opportunity to get to know the resident’s needs before transferring onto nights.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to:
Coach and mentor new and existing staff
Review care plans
Prepare, administer, store, record and order medication
Personal care (washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
Maintain and develop professional relations with families
Reporting any safeguarding concerns
Promote independence of our residents at all times to improve their quality of life.
About you:
Have an NVQ Level 2 in Care; this is not essential as our Team Leader Development Programme will support those wanting to take the next step in their career.
Medication trained – not essential as training can be given
Be confident in supervising others and be able to manage/prioritise workloads
Be able to work as part of a team.
Have a positive attitude.

About Us:
Situated in the popular seaside resort of Withernsea, Tamarix Lodge is a 35-bed care home, with 29 rooms conveniently located on the ground floor. We primarily provide physical care and support to older adults and individuals living with dementia. Our home is within easy walking distance of local amenities, the beach, and shops, allowing residents to enjoy the vibrant coastal environment.
Tamarix Lodge features hairdressing facilities, a designated activity lounge, and secure, enclosed rear gardens for relaxation and enjoying the fresh sea air. These gardens also offer opportunities for residents to participate in gardening activities if they wish.
The HICA Group is a ‘Not for Profit’ organisation providing a range of care services to older people and people with learning difficulties, both within residential homes and in the community.
