We are looking for a Claims Handler for our Legal, Technical & Claims team focusing on Professional Indemnity claims. This permanent role is based in our City of London HQ.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues as part of a team that provides professional indemnity claims advocacy for national clients, including technical advice and supporting clients with large and complex insurance claims.
  • Approach claims handling on an "added value" basis, providing advice on coverage issues and other technical matters.
  • Prepare substantive notifications, proactively manage the flow of information, and take a strategic approach to claim resolution.
  • Attend client meetings – renewal, claims review, and trend analysis – initially under supervision, then independently.
  • Manage your own portfolio of clients as the day‑to‑day claims contact, ensuring high standards of service.
  • Support larger accounts that require two‑person handling, reading notifications, managing correspondence, and keeping accurate records in line with company processes.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and insurers; challenge insurers where necessary to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Work autonomously or as part of a team, remaining self‑motivated, well‑organised, and adaptable.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a Professional Indemnity claims role (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong commercial drive.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex matters clearly and simply.
  • Ability to build sustainable long‑term relationships internally and externally.
  • Adaptable to working independently and as part of a team.
