An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Lead Academy Physical Performance Coach to join our Performance Department.
Working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will lead the physical development of our Academy players, delivering our full-time U19 programme while overseeing the design and implementation of the physical performance programme across the U13–U17 age groups. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the athletic development of future professional footballers within one of Scotland's leading youth development environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Academy's physical performance programme.
- Design long-term athletic development programmes tailored to each player's age and stage of development.
- Work collaboratively with coaches, physiotherapists and performance staff to maximise player development.
- Deliver comprehensive physical profiling, testing and monitoring programmes.
- Support injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play processes.
- Line manage Academy Physical Performance Coaches, including postgraduate research students and sessional staff.
- Help drive innovation and continuous improvement within the Academy Performance Department.
- Has experience working within an elite football or high-performance sporting environment.
- Is passionate about developing young athletes and helping them fulfil their potential.
- Can lead, inspire and develop others.
- Thrives within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Uses evidence-based practice and embraces innovation.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- BSc in Sport & Exercise Science (or related discipline).
- Minimum two years' postgraduate experience.
- Experience working within an Academy, Development or First Team multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong understanding of strength & conditioning, long-term athlete development, injury prevention and rehabilitation.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport.
