The Club is one of the leading professional football clubs in Scotland. Based at Easter Road Stadium in Scotland’s Capital City, Edinburgh, the Club is a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre. Over the course of its history, Hibernian Football Club has won all of the major domestic titles, most recently winning the Scottish Cup in 2016. Hibernian was the first British team to play in European competition in 1956, reaching the semi-finals.

Hibernian Football Club has created a football structure and strategy at the forefront of the British game, with a philosophy and ethos that is performance-driven and encourages all players and staff to maximise their abilities and potential. The E-Commerce Executive will lead the strategy, development, and execution of the Club’s e-commerce operations. This role is responsible for driving online revenue growth, enhancing the fan shopping experience, and maximising the commercial potential of the club’s digital retail channels. The E-Commerce Executive will also help oversee and support multiple aspects of the Club’s retail activity, including supporting the official online and physical store, third-party marketplaces, merchandising initiatives and opportunities, and supporting customer service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trading & Performance
    • Manage day-to-day trading of the online store, including product launches, promotions, and merchandising.
    • Optimise conversion rates, average order value, and customer lifetime value.
    • Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee pricing, inventory visibility, and online product assortment.
  • Digital Experience
    • Own the end-to-end user journey across web and mobile platforms.
    • Work with Shopify and tech teams to enhance site performance, usability, and personalisation.
    • Ensure a seamless and engaging fan experience, from browsing to checkout.
  • E-commerce & Digital Retail
    • Lead the Club’s e-commerce platform, driving online sales growth and improving the digital customer journey.
    • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications teams to deliver effective online campaigns, product launches, and promotions.
    • Utilise data and insights to enhance conversion, average order value, and customer retention.
    • Work collaboratively within a small team environment, contributing proactively with club retail senior management.
    • Collaborate with retail, marketing, and partnerships teams to align campaigns and product launches.
    • Manage day-to-day product uploads and maintain the online catalogue, ensuring accurate product data, pricing, and merchandising across all retail platforms.
  • Marketing & Growth
    • Partner with digital marketing teams to drive traffic through SEO, paid media, email, and social channels.
    • Develop and execute campaigns around key football moments (e.g., kit launches, transfers, matchdays).
    • Leverage fan data and CRM to create targeted and personalised campaigns.
    • Create and deliver high-quality graphic design and digital content, including visual assets, banners, and on-site imagery, particularly around key launches and campaigns.
    • Produce engaging and commercially focused copy, including product descriptions, campaign messaging, and email content.
  • Operations & Fulfilment
    • Oversee e-commerce operations including order management, logistics, and customer service integration.
    • Ensure efficient fulfilment and delivery, both domestically and internationally.
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, platforms, and logistics partners.
  • Commercial & Partnerships
    • Identify and develop new revenue streams, including international expansion and marketplace opportunities.
    • Collaborate with kit suppliers and commercial partners to maximise product sales.
    • Support sponsorship activations within digital retail channels.
  • Wider Support
    • Assist with set up and manage physical retail outlets at the stadium (e.g., kiosks, club shop, and more).
    • Prepare retail areas for high footfall during matches and special events.
    • Support with resolving complaints or issues in a professional, club-friendly manner.
    • Take a hands-on approach to retail operations, supporting the execution of launches and ongoing trading activity.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior e-commerce role, ideally within sports, retail, or consumer brands.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and CRO.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Passion for football and understanding of fan culture is highly desirable.
