We are looking for an Associate or Senior Associate solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in corporate and personal insolvency to work as part of the cross-office Business Support and Insolvency Team, primarily based from our London office. The successful candidate will work closely with the Partner who heads up the team, alongside two junior fee earners. They would have immediate supervisory responsibilities within London and be expected to work with colleagues in Cardiff, Thames Valley and Southampton.
The successful candidate will already be working in all aspects of insolvency, both personal and corporate, including transactional, advisory and contentious insolvency. The team works for a wide range of insolvency practitioners, banks, lenders, investors, directors, companies and individuals, providing the opportunity to work closely with all clients.
About you:
You must be able to evidence an excellent working knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016 and Companies Act 2006. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in dealing with administration appointments, security reviews, sales of businesses, winding up petitions, bankruptcy petitions, bankruptcy estates, matrimonial home proceedings, transactions at undervalue, preferences, misfeasance and directors’ loan accounts. Experience of appointing and working with LPA Receivers would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience delegating to and managing junior colleagues, and an enthusiasm for business development and networking. Good contacts in the Insolvency Profession and a following would also be welcomed, as would a candidate that has majored on contentious insolvency work, looking to broaden their skill set to become a fully rounded insolvency lawyer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a lively, ambitious solicitor who is flexible, able to think on their feet and enjoys networking and contributing to the growth of a successful and busy insolvency practice. We support hybrid working, typically with 2-3 days flexible office attendance, according to business need.
