About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and customer-focussed Plumber / Gas engineer to join our growing field-based team, carrying out various works at our customer sites around the South.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems and delivery a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completion of PPM and reactive repairs in the most proactive and efficient way possible.
  • Production of quotes in a thorough way, with thought out and researched methodology including correct parts and labour times required to ensure profitability, cost control and client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for ensuring effective diagnostic of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment.
  • Installation of sanitary ware in various properties
  • Installation of first and second fix pipework
  • Installation of Catering Equipment
  • Above ground drainage installations and repair
  • Basic multi trade skills such as tiling can be required from time to time
  • Compliance with H&S rules and policies
  • Take a sensible approach to H&S, completing risk assessments and method statements and safely looking after your work area
  • Communicating with Estimators, Helpdesk, Site Supervisors and Customers to establish & cost jobs
  • Build positive relationships with all stakeholders and keep relevant parties up to date with developments
  • Work as part of a team and be willing to support other operatives at other locations as required
  • Participate on our on-call rota

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • A trade specific minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Valid Gas Safe Registration and Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1 or CODNCO1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1A or TPCP1)
  • Commercial Plumbing Installations (Mappress Systems and Soldered Copper Pipe) across a variety of commercial, with some domestic sites.
  • A nice to have: - CKR1 (Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances) / CCCN1 (Non-Domestic Natural Gas Core Catering Appliances)/ HTRT, CONGLP1PD
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence
