Role Overview: Within the context of a rapidly expanding company, you will be integrated in a dynamic, stimulating and constantly evolving environment. Based in our London office with some European travel. Reporting to the Senior Regulatory & Quality Affairs Manager, you will support the continued development and maintenance of an effective Quality System and ensure that products comply with applicable regulatory and industry requirements across Europe. You will coordinate product release activities, OOS investigations, deviations, complaints, and manufacturer-led investigations. You will ensure contract manufacturers adhere to Quality Agreements and manage the relationships with them, including all change control activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of H&H standards, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure conformity of pet food and food supplement products sold in the UK and EU, taking into account all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Write, implement, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate product testing activities, including stability, microbiological testing, and palatability assessments.
  • Generate and review production specifications with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage specifications and out-of-specification (OOS) investigations.
  • Review and maintain Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Oversee product release processes.
  • Review and evaluate formulations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review labelling, marketing materials, packaging, and digital documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in relationships, meetings, and audits with Europe-wide contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Lead preparations for inspections and audits.
  • Follow up on CAPAs and deviations and initiate and implement change controls through the eQMS.
  • Review and investigate customer complaints.
  • Engage in cross-functional activities and global projects.
  • Provide quality expertise to internal stakeholders across Regulatory, Product Development, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Digital, and Marketing teams.
  • Communicate potential risks clearly and proactively, proposing appropriate solutions or alternatives.
  • Continuously review processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support and promote brand-specific benchmark standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage safety-related reports (FSA, EFSA), internal data processing, and analysis.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory and quality requirements and changes.
  • Anticipate and implement legislative requirements as needed.
  • Manage various business-driven projects.
  • Continuously assess personal performance and discuss development through regular appraisals.
  • Contribute to a positive, proactive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent in a science discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pet food, feed or food sectors, within Manufacturing, QA, QC.
  • A solid working knowledge of Quality Systems, Risk Management and Compliance.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory requirements for feed or food.
  • International regulatory experience is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills.
  • Champion for process excellence and quality standards across operations.
  • Experience in driving change, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • Cross-functional problem solving and decision making, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficient computer skills.
  • Results-driven, detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Customer service oriented with a positive, flexible and diligent approach.
