Purpose of the job
This role isresponsible forUK and international tax reporting and compliance,transfer pricing complianceand advisory,withholdingtax clearances and certificates, andtax authority audits and enquiries.
The Tax Manager will work with a wide range of stakeholders around t he group, including tax,financeand commercial colleagues, and be able to explain tax positions and issues from numerical and legislative perspectives. As such, we'll need you to have astronglevel of experience in corporate tax compliance,group tax reporting and tax accounting. You'll need to demonstrate agood understanding of transfer pricing principals and applications,as well as have good verbal and written communication skills and a drive to complete tasks autonomously, quickly and efficiently.
This role operates largely remotely within the UK, but you must be able to access our London H/Q a couple of times per month.
Key responsibilities
- International CIT Compliance - review of overseas tax returnsand supporting thepreparation oftax reconciliations, taxbalancesand taxnotes inlocalaccounts
- Group Tax Reporting –preparation ofyear-endtax computationsandcurrent and deferred taxaccountingforthe UKgroup and reviewoftax reporting and accountingacross therest of thegroup
- UK Compliance - preparationandreviewofUK taxQIPs,computations and returns, includingthe calculations for group relief, CIR,capital allowances and double tax relief and the CFC review
- Transfer Pricing Compliance - manage preparation and coordination of TP master file and local files across thegroup, andassistwith preparation andreviewof TP filingsin various countries as needed. Prepare quarterly TP calculationsandworkwiththefinanceteamto managethe invoicing
- Transfer Pricing Advisory - work with advisors to updateourglobalTPmodeland other peripheral structuresand benchmarking. Advisecolleagueson an ad-hoc basis in relation to any new intercompany interactionsandappropriate pricing, andputsupporting documentation in place
- Group Filings – assistwithCbCnotificationsandglobal reporting, and Pillar Two compliance
- Tax Enquiries - take a lead on tax authority CIT & TP enquiries and audits
- WHT –manage external interest WHT forms,clearancesand filings etc;Obtain and manageWHT certificatesand clearancesas needed around the group for royalties,interest and other charges
- Dealing with ad hoc queries such as withholding tax issues, tax treaty analysis and PE risks
Knowledge, skills + experience
- A qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)orChartered Accountant(ACA) or equivalent accounting qualifications is desirablebuta proventrack recordofeight or moreyears ofstrongexperience inInternational direct taxand transfer pricingand applying this in a commercial environmentis key
- Sound knowledge of UK corporate tax compliance processes, CFC, CIR, Group Relief, DTR,SAOetc, as well as a good understanding of the processes and reporting requirements in otherjurisdictions
- Broad experience in managing tax compliance, groupreportingand transfer pricingmattersacross multiplejurisdictions, includingCbCRand Pillar Two
- Strong organizational / time managementa nd communication skills,andan ability toexplain tax to non-tax peoplein a clear and concise manner
- Experience with Excel is a must-have and experience with tax technology solutionsand group reporting systems(eg Alphatax, SAP) is desirable
- Practical mindset with ability to integrate tax processes with business objectives
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and matrixed organization
- Experience of dealing with and positivelyresolvingenquiries from tax authorities andqueriesfrom within the business
- Attentive with an eye for detail
- Driven to grow in the role, be proactive and seek improvements and solutions
