The predicted salary is between 34000 - 46000 ÂŁ per year.

Basic ÂŁ41,000, OTE ÂŁ45,000. Overtime paid at time and a half for 40 hours. (Various shifts available)

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to join our brilliant team at our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Swindon. As an HGV Technician, your role will be to keep our customers’ vehicles on the road, via quality, safe and compliant maintenance. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and to the highest quality. Being part of our team is about being experts in what we do. Day to day, you will be:

  • Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz trucks.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Carrying out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
  • Completing customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.

Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role

  • Qualification: You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus, will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs.
  • Resilience: A resilient person is someone who has strong coping skills and can draw on these when life presents challenges.
  • Motivation: To ensure personal and team success, being motivated is essential and is a key part of your role and it is part of being a brilliant team player.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in diagnosing issues and conducting repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within timeframes to meet customer demands and maintain workshop efficiency.
