Salary up to £22 per hour (dependent on experience & skill set) £2,000 JOINING BONUS!!!!!! (for direct applicants only, paid after 6 months of continuous service)

Shifts available:

  • Perm late shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 22:00, with alternative Saturday shifts from 06:00 to 12:00 at overtime - time and a half

Who are you?

Skills/Qualifications:

  • City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification required
  • Completion of an apprenticeship in the HGV industry or equivalent experience, along with relevant experience in the commercial vehicle sector
  • Basic knowledge of computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred, as is general computer literacy
  • Basic working knowledge of vehicle technology

What you will be doing

As a Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring vehicle repairs meet the highest standards at our modern retail dealer point. You should have technical and practical skills in repairing and maintaining HGVs, and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Flexibility to adapt to new processes and develop skills is essential, along with participation in training and development activities. We expect you to be an active team member and capable of developing or improving work processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs according to manufacturer procedures safely and responsibly
  • Use Volvo Standard Times and special tools where appropriate
  • Assist in fault diagnosis
  • Follow warranty procedures and complete warranty documentation
  • Assist with Action Service Europe when required
  • Work with the Parts Team to ensure correct parts are fitted
  • Road test vehicles if holding an HGV license
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns
  • Accurately complete job cards and follow time recording procedures
  • Complete service sheets as per Volvo instructions
  • Report vehicle defects to workshop controllers
  • Maintain workshop facilities, tools, and equipment
  • Support the training of trainees and apprentices
