Overview
We are looking for NVQ level 3 qualified (or similar) HGV Mechanics to join our excellent team of specialists. You would have completed an apprenticeship in the HGV industry, or have similar experience and will also have experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out repairs to a high standard according to procedures, safely and responsibly.
- Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
- Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
- Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license).
- Assist with roadside breakdowns.
- Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately.
- Ensure all vehicle defects are reported.
- Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained.
- Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices.
Benefits
- £1,000 signing bonus payable after 6 months to direct candidates.
- Salary up to £21 per hour (dependent upon skill set and experience).
- Rotating shifts: Monday to Friday 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00; Saturday overtime 07:00-13:00 at time and a half (up to £31.50 per hour).
- 25 days holiday rising to 30 days with service plus bank holidays.
