An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Collection and Delivery Driver to join our team at our DAF Wigan site to collect and deliver customer vehicles. Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Collecting and delivering customer vehicles for overnight maintenance.
- Assisting technicians when carrying out road tests and rolling road brake tests.
- Provide excellent customer service during vehicle deliveries, including courteous interaction with clients and prompt resolution of any delivery-related issues.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes in delivery requirements or traffic conditions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of assigned vehicles, both internally and externally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure smooth operations.
- General care of the workshop.
- Routine checks of the courtesy vehicles.
- Assist with other duties within the dealership as needed, including vehicle detailing, yard organisation, and other tasks to support overall operations.
- Full and valid UK driving license. (Essential)
- Valid HGV Class 1 license (C & D category) with clean driving record. (Essential)
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of road safety regulations. (Essential)
- Previous experience as a commercial driver, preferably in the transportation of commercial vehicles. (Essential)
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Tuesday to Friday, 9.00pm to 8.00am, 1 hour lunch break (unpaid), 40 hours per week plus overtime.
