We’re hiring for an IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join our team in Leeds to ensure the resilience, security, and efficiency of the firm’s IT infrastructure, supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services. This role is critical in maintaining secure systems, managing infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal sector-specific requirements.
Key Deliverables:
- Infrastructure Management: Play a key role in implementing, and maintaining robust IT systems—including servers, networking, and cloud services—to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Cybersecurity Initiatives: Support the implementation of advanced security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents to protect our organisation.
- Champion Compliance: Ensure our IT operations meet legal and regulatory standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus), and support audits with up-to-date documentation.
- Collaborate on Strategic Projects: Collaborate with the wider IT team to deliver infrastructure and security projects and evaluate new technologies.
- Provide Expert Support: Offer advanced 3rd line support for escalated issues, work closely with the wider IT team, and mentor junior IT staff on best practices.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and technically skilled professional with a strong foundation in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, ideally within a professional services or legal environment. You understand how your role contributes to broader business objectives and can clearly articulate this connection. You’re methodical in your approach to planning and problem-solving, using established systems and processes to manage day-to-day challenges and meet deadlines. Your analytical mindset enables you to gather, validate, and report on data using standard tools, supporting informed decision-making. You’re comfortable working as part of a project team, contributing to improvement initiatives and supporting wider workstreams. You consistently adhere to internal policies and standards, demonstrating a strong awareness of risk and compliance.
Qualifications/Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity within a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Intune, M365, Active Directory, Hyper-V, networking (LAN/WAN), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Experience with security tools such as Sophos, Fortinet, or similar.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in managing mobile devices using Microsoft Intune and administering identity and access policies through Microsoft Entra.
- Experience in monitoring IT infrastructure and proactively addressing issues before they impact users or services.
Desirable:
- Certifications such as CompTIA+, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Administrator.
- Experience with legal sector applications and data protection requirements.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python).
- Familiarity with Salesforce administration.
