We are looking for an enthusiastic Chemistry graduate to join our team in Manchester. You will work alongside our team of Attorneys and formalities to support our clients in the protection of their intellectual property assets. The role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities and requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work to deadlines along with being able to receive and act upon feedback on your work.

The training process is a challenge (one we hope you’ll relish), we offer exceptional support in helping you get there. This includes access to your own training budget, an internal tutorial program, access to our in house L&D platform and working with qualified attorneys who have a deep understanding of what it is like to be a trainee, having been there and done it in the not so long and distant past. There is so much knowledge you can tap into, including supervision from experienced partners and senior attorneys, supporting you on your journey to qualification.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drafting of patent documents
  • Dealing with client queries in a professional and timely way
  • Interacting with patent offices
  • Construct technical arguments with a view to prosecuting patents
  • Supporting Attorneys in ensuring that legal deadlines are met
  • Liaising with clients and answering queries
  • Supporting the team in the development and growth of new and existing clients

About You:

You hold, or are working towards, a degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline. You bring strong technical knowledge and a genuine interest in developing a career in intellectual property, alongside the curiosity and analytical mindset needed to succeed in this field.

You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You are comfortable managing your own tasks while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment. Highly motivated to learn, you are receptive to feedback and eager to continuously develop your skills as you progress through your training.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, and you are able to convey complex scientific concepts clearly and confidently. Above all, you are personable, proactive, and bring a strong client-focused approach to everything you do.
