Job Description:
- Plan and deliver lessons on sociological theories, research methods, social institutions, culture, inequality, and global issues.
- Develop curricula and teaching materials that engage diverse learners.
- Facilitate class discussions, debates, and activities that encourage analytical thinking and sociological inquiry.
- Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students.
- Integrate current events, case studies, and real-world examples into lessons.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Stay current with developments in sociology and incorporate relevant content into teaching.
- Communicate with parents, guardians, or academic advisors regarding student performance (if teaching in a school setting).
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
