HG Recruitment are recruiting a Fabrication Welder in partnership with our client based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. This is a 12-week temporary-to-permanent contract. We are seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our client's team on a temporary to permanent, shop-based basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder with strong fabrication experience to work on a variety of general steelwork and vessel projects.

Working hours: 7am - 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and Friday 7am - 12pm. 30 mins unpaid lunch break. Overtime is paid after 42 hours at time and a half.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out MIG welding on a range of fabrication projects
  • Perform butt and fillet welds to a high standard
  • Work with both mild steel and stainless steel materials
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings
  • Fabricate and assemble general steelwork and vessels
  • Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a fabrication welder
  • Previous coding in MIG butt and fillet welding
  • Strong background in general steelwork fabrication
  • Experience working with vessels (highly desirable)
  • Competent welding both mild steel and stainless steel
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and quality-focused
