ROLE: Vehicle Prepper
LOCATION: Corby, Northampton
Rate of pay: Β£14.48 - Β£15.55 per hour depending on experience
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 6am - 4pm.
Type of contract: Temporary ongoing
HG Recruitment are recruiting Vehicle Preppers in partnership with our client based in Corby, Northamptonshire. This is a full-time temporary ongoing contract.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Purpose of the role: To assist in the daily production of the Bodyshop department to achieve production figures and produce high quality vehicles in line with Customer standards.
Role Accountabilities:
- Preparing vehicles for paint including masking, sanding down and priming panels
- Ensuring that there are no defects on the prepared panels
- Working on a range of vehicles from small family cars to light commercial vehicles
- To work within standards and processes laid down by paint and dry goods companies to ensure that a high-quality cost-effective product is produced
- Supporting Bodyshop team within other departments if required
- To check all work prior to starting to ensure that it has been repaired to the required standard
- To ensure that all parts requisitions are completed accurately
- To ensure all work is completed within the time allotted
- To work efficiently to ensure targets are met
- To develop and maintain professional and positive working relationships with colleagues
Personal Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Bodyshop Technician / Prepper
- Full valid UK driving licence with the ability to drive automatic and manual cars (essential)
- For insurance purposes, you need to be over 21 years old and hold a driving licence for a minimum of 2 years (essential)
- Willing to support junior techs and offer support/expertise when needed
- Passionate to work within the motor industry and take pride in their work, to the highest standards set by customers
- Ability to work independently on vehicles and make decisions when required
- Excellent attention to detail
