HG Recruitment is seeking an experienced Year 6 Teacher to work two fixed days per week, starting ASAP and continuing for the remainder of the academic year. The school can accommodate any two days based on the candidate’s long-term availability.

The ideal teacher will have strong behaviour management skills and an excellent understanding of SEN, with the ability to support pupils facing a range of learning and behavioural challenges. This class requires consistency and stability, so the role is suited to someone who can fully commit for the long term.

We are seeking a flexible, confident, and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Supply Teacher to join our primary team on an as-needed basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across KS2, maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and appropriate lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum (plans may be provided or you may be asked to adapt/create your own).
  • Manage the classroom effectively to ensure a safe, calm, and productive learning environment.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities.
  • Mark work where required and leave clear feedback for the regular class teacher.
  • Maintain good behaviour management in line with the school’s policies.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a KS2 setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a positive approach to working in different school environments.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
