The Secondary School Music Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality music education to students aged 11-18, fostering creativity, musical skill, and an appreciation of music across a range of styles, traditions, and technologies. The role supports students' academic progress, personal development, and engagement with the wider school community.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons in line with the national or school curriculum.
- Teach a range of musical skills, including performance, composition, listening, and music theory.
- Prepare students for examinations, performances, and assessments.
- Organise and support extracurricular activities such as choirs, bands, ensembles, and school performances.
- Use music technology and resources effectively, including notation software and recording tools.
