Join our team at the NHS Supply Chain distribution centre in Bridgwater. HG Recruitment are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to support a busy, fast-paced operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong transport professional to step into a key operational role, with the chance to demonstrate capability within a high-profile logistics environment.
Rates: £17.26 per hour
Estimated weekly pay based on 40 hours: £690.40 before deductions
Estimated annual equivalent: £35,900 per year (before tax, NI, pension, etc.)
We are looking for a confident and experienced Transport Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of the Traffic Office. This role is key to ensuring smooth transport operations, maintaining compliance, and supporting drivers and the wider team.
Duties:
- Supervise daily traffic office operations to ensure efficient transport activity
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing guidance and support
- Monitor vehicle movements and proactively manage delays or issues
- Ensure all transport administration is accurate and updated in real time
- Maintain compliance with Operator Licence, tachograph, and driver hours regulations
- Complete daily operational and compliance reports
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, planning, and customer teams
- Support and deputise for the Transport Manager where required
- Promote Health & Safety and safe systems of work
- Identify and resolve operational issues to maintain service levels
Contract Details:
This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 3 months, covering long-term sickness. While there may be potential for extension or a permanent opportunity, this is not guaranteed and will be subject to business requirements and individual performance.
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday
Rotating shifts (fortnightly): 06:00 - 14:00, 14:00 - 22:00
Flexibility: Fixed afternoon shift may be considered, subject to operational requirements

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a shift
