We're looking for an experienced and motivated Sales Ledger Team Leader to lead our Sales Ledger function and deliver an efficient, accurate and customer-focused accounts receivable service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong sales ledger experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to support and develop others while driving continuous improvement.

You'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day sales ledger operations, ensuring cash receipts are allocated accurately, reconciliations are completed on time and outstanding accounts are effectively managed. You'll also lead and support an Accounts Assistant, build strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure a high-quality finance service.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the day-to-day Sales Ledger function and supporting the development of the Sales Ledger team.
  • Overseeing cash receipt allocations, reconciliations and the management of outstanding debtor accounts.
  • Preparing aged debtor reports and supporting the timely recovery of outstanding balances.
  • Managing the Sales Ledger inbox and resolving customer and stakeholder queries promptly and professionally.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal teams, including Housing and Finance colleagues, to resolve account issues and improve processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve ways of working, monitor performance and deliver an efficient, high-quality service.

About you:

You'll have previous sales ledger or accounts receivable experience, ideally with experience leading or supervising a team. You'll be confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment. You'll be a proactive communicator who enjoys building positive relationships, developing others and delivering excellent customer service.
